This iconic Nightmist Blue 1967 Shelby GT500 arrived to our collection as a wonderfully preserved survivor. Early in its life the original engine was replaced with a 427 Side Oiler. Rather than stripping it down for a concours restoration, we completed a sympathetic restoration—maintaining every bit of its historic character and original finish, while ensuring it was mechanically sorted and safe to thrash on the road.

Perishable Refresh

Our primary focus was on the perishables. Hoses, belts, bushings, and seals were replaced as needed. The fuel system was completely gone through, including a tank cleaning, new fuel lines, and a cleanup of the original dual Holley carburetors. We also overhauled the braking system, installing new lines and refreshing the calipers.

Chassis & Safety

The suspension was carefully disassembled, cleaned, and reassembled with fresh bushings and period-correct shocks, dramatically improving road holding without altering the car's height or stance. We wrapped the Shelby ten-spoke wheels in sticky bias-ply looking but modern radial tires, giving the driver the confidence to really push the car through the corners.

Fast by Modern Standards

The resulting car with its medium rise 427 is lighting quick for an old car, but still confidence inspiring. This car is ready to leave some Hemis at the lights for years to come.
